We offer piano, violin, guitar and voice lessons for students of all ages!

Our experienced teachers make music fun and accessible! We are dedicated to helping students develop their musical skills in a positive, supportive and nurturing environment.

We make music engaging for young students by using games, patterns, rhyming, and songs. Students are encouraged to be creative and have fun while they are learning foundational music skills that will last a lifetime!

What happens in a lesson?

A typical lesson at Danforth Music starts with some warm-ups and technical skills. Young students and beginners might learn about note names and simple scale patterns, while older and more advanced students will learn more complex skills like scales, triads and chord progressions.

Next, students work on repertoire, which can include songs of their choice, and pieces recommended by the teacher.

At the end of the lesson, the teacher and student work together to set goals for practising over the week.

FAQs

How long are lessons?

We offer 30 min, 45 min and 1 hour long, and recommend 30 minutes for students under age 10, and 45 minutes for students age 10 and up. Advanced students may opt for a 1 hour lesson as needed.

Do I need to own a piano/guitar/violin?

Students are required to have access to their instrument at home when they begin lessons. Students must have access to a keyboard or acoustic piano, or a violin or guitar sized appropriately for their age. Voice students must also have access to a keyboard or piano.

Can I book a trial lesson?

Yes! Trial lessons give students the chance to see if lessons will be a good fit for them. Once you have completed your trial lesson, we offer registration on a per term basis.

How much do lessons cost?

30 minute lessons - $45
45 minute lessons - $67
60 minute lessons - $90

We require 24 hours notice by email or phone for cancellations. Students are entitled to two make up lessons per term, which can be scheduled through our office.
